Chain Stitched Pet Bandana
As we kick off our chain stitch line with pet bandanas, we are offering a special promo price of $20. In the future these will cost $25. This run of bandanas is made with the pictured black and white fabric with red thread.
This is a fully handmade item! We sew the bandanas as well as do the chain stitching in our studio using a hand cranked chain stitch machine (see below). Lettering will be done in cursive and have a charming handmade quality (ie. no 2 letters will be perfectly the same). Name will be capitalized.
Small triangle measures 19" (longest side)
Medium triangle measures 25" (longest side)
Large triangle measures 29" (longest side)
Easy way to size: measure your pet's collar and add a couple inches on each side for tying. When in doubt, size up. Bodhi (model) is a 20ish lbs minpin and wearing a medium.
Chain stitching can be traced back to 1100 BC in China but machine chain stitch has been more recently used in the last 100 years for work wear, uniforms, western wear and embellishing clothing and fabrics. The direction of the needle is controlled by a hand cranked knob under the sewing table, so each letter is created by the machine operator (aka us!)
