IMPORTANT STUFF

These cloth masks are not PPE and they may not provide complete protection against virus-sized particles. They are not intended to be a replacement for N95 or medical grade masks or serve as protection against COVID-19. Cloth masks can serve as an extra measure to protect against COVID-19 in addition to staying home, social distancing and hand washing. The decision to use this mask is your own.

More information on the use of cloth masks from the Canadian government can be found HERE and information from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) can be found HERE

As of May 20th, 2020, Federal public health officials are now officially recommending that people wear non-medical masks to help protect others in situations where physical distancing isn't possible. Read more HERE

MASK TIPS

WASHING: This fabric has been pre-washed and shrunk but we recommend washing before first use. Cloth masks should be washed often, especially after each use. Hand or machine wash with warm water and mild detergent, dry completely in a hot drier.

For masks with vinyl accents: do not dry clean. Wash and dry your mask inside-out. Use cold or warm water for the wash (not over 178 degrees F) and a mild detergent. Dry on a low/tumble setting or hang to dry. Do not iron.

You can tie the ends of your string together and place your mask(s) in a pillow case tied shut when washing so the string doesn't get all caught in your machine. Store clean mask in a clean container or bag.

FILTERS: What can you use as a filter? Google is your friend for this one. We've seen many different materials suggested from paper towel to coffee filters. Be safe and choose one that is right for you.

STRING: You can remove the string and replace it if you wish! You could even cut it and make smaller ties to slip around your ears if that's what you prefer. If your string accidentally comes out, don't panic! You can secure a safety pin to one end of the string and feed it back through the holes.
